Heard learned counsels for the parties.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that balance gratuity has been paid to him on 26th November, 2024 on filing of the writ petition but no interest in delayed payment has been made.

On hearing the learned counsels appearing for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the Municipality/the respondent no.3 will pay interest due to the petitioner on the delayed payment of gratuity within a period of sixty days from the date of this order.

The consideration for the said interest shall be as per Section 7(3A) of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent Xerox certified copies of this order, if applied for, shall be supplied to the learned counsel for the parties as expeditiously as possible, in compliance of usual formalities.
