The writ petitioner has threefold grievances:- Firstly, that the Panchla Police Station has registered FIR after 12 days from receipt of the complaint of the petitioner. Secondly, that the accused are still at large and are threatening the petitioner and her family members. Thirdly, that the petitioner is unable to return to her residence out of fear as a consequence thereof.

It is submitted by Mr. Mukherjee, learned counsel for the State, who has filed a report before this Court on behalf of the Panchla Police Station that there is some interpolation with regard to the date of the complaint. FIR has been registered and the accused are on bail.

Having heard the counsel for the parties, this Court is of the view that the petitioner should be afforded sufficient protection firstly to return to her residence. The O. C., Panchla Police Station shall

depute one male and one female constable to escort the petitioner and her family members back to their house.

The O. C., Panchla Police Station shall further post a police picket comprising of two constables outside the house of the petitioner for a period of four days.

The private respondents, who are stated to be threatened the petitioner shall be summoned to the Police Station and suitably warned against the intimidating the petitioner.

In the event of any further incidents, Panchla Police shall apply for cancellation of the bail of the said persons.

It is ordered that the investigation in the subject FIR be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from date. The petitioner shall cooperate with the investigation.

The petitioner shall provide a copy of the video recordings of any of the subject matter of the FIR to the I. O., who shall take it into consideration in course of the investigation.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
