On the fair submission of Mr. Basu, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the municipal corporation that the appropriate authority of the Chandernagore Municipal Corporation will dispose of the application for mutation filed by the petitioners with regard to the premises in question as described in Paragraph 4 of the writ petition, nothing further remains to be decided in this matter.
The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the appropriate authority of the Chandernagore Municipal Corporation to dispose of the application for mutation filed by the petitioners in accordance with law. If required, the petitioners shall be given a hearing. The petitioners shall be allowed to file necessary documents in connection with the said application as provided under the law.
Once all documents and necessary papers are filed with the Corporation, if the petitioners are called upon to do so, the matter shall be disposed of within a period of four
weeks from date of petitioners' complying with all the necessary formalities.
A hearing shall be given and a reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioners. If the Corporation is unable to grant mutation to the petitioners, reasons thereof shall be disclosed in the order. This writ petition is, thus, disposed of.
There will be no order as to costs.
All parties are to act on the basis of the learned advocate's communication.
