This contempt application is filed alleging willful disobedience of the directions issued in the order dated 1st May, 2023 passed in WPA(P) 112 of 2021.

Learned advocate for the respondent State submitted that after the directions have been issued the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has directed the District Inspector of Schools to take appropriate step as against those teachers who are violating the declaration filed by them not to conduct any private tuition for personal gain. She further submitted that initially from nine districts the District Inspectors of Schools have gathered the details. However, it is very difficult for the District Inspector of Schools to ascertain as to how and where these teachers are conducting private tuition.

Considering the difficulty to implement the directions issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, there will be a direction on the Commissioner of School Education to issue necessary directives to the West Bengal Board of Secondary

Education as well as the District Inspector of Schools as to how best they can implement the declarations filed by the teachers and to prevent them from engaging themselves in any sort of private tuition for personal gain. The aforesaid direction will be complied with within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this contempt application is disposed of.
