We direct that the trial of the petitioner be expeditiously conducted and concluded by 31st December, 2022. This order is made on the submission of learned counsel that charge has been framed against the petitioner and 8 witnesses are to be examined for the prosecution on and from 28th October, 2022.

In case the trial cannot be concluded, the learned judge of the court below shall grant bail to the petitioner in terms of our order dated 19th October 2020 in CRM 8187 of 2020 (In the matter of: Shovon Nandi @ Mantu) which decision had followed the Supreme Court's order dated 7th February, 2020 in Criminal Appeal No (S). 245 of 2020.

Accordingly, the application for bail is disposed of.
