1. Perused the report forwarded by the Officer-in-Charge, Patashpur Police Station signed on 24th September, 2025.

2. It appears therefrom that though there is no previous record for grant of permission for organizing Puja, but local enquiries reveal that the said Puja is being performed for the last twenty years and there has never been any incident of law and order issue.

3. The report of the police further mentions that, if the Puja is conducted peacefully after obtaining permission from the competent authority, then police does not have any objection to the same.

4. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the Sub Divisional Officer, for reasons best known, is not issuing the permission.

5. The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the concerned Sub Divisional Officer to take a decision for grant of Puja permission relying upon the report of the Officer-in-Charge, Patashpur Police Station.

6. Let a copy of the police report be handed over to the learned advocate for the petitioner. It will be open for the petitioner to place the report before the concerned Sub Divisional Officer so that the said authority can take a decision in the matter at the earliest.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
