Matter relates to Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), 2025 and 1st State Level Selection Test, for recruitment of Special Education Teachers in Government Aided /Sponsored High/ Higher Secondary Schools.

Presently petitioner is pursuing Teacher Training Course [D.EL.Ed. (Special Education)] and according to the petitioner, he is entitled to participate in TET, 2025 which is to be conducted for recruitment of Special Education teachers. Reliance is placed on an order dated 24th September, 2025 passed by this Court on writ petition being WPA 22876 of 2025 (Soumen Bag &

Ors. Vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.). In the said order dated 24th September, 2025 this Court permitted similarly circumstanced candidates to submit applications in off-line mode before the concerned authority of West Bengal Central School Service Commission (for short, "Commission") by extending time till 1.00 PM on 25th September, 2025. Present petitioner prays for similar order.

Learned advocate representing the Commission has opposed the prayer of the petitioner and has submitted that last date for submitting application for participating in TET, 2025 was 24th September, 2025 as per notification dated 21st August, 2025 and candidates were required to deposit fees within the aforesaid date. It is also submitted that as aforesaid writ petition being WPA 22876 of 2025 was moved on last date of submitting application for participating in TET, 2025, i.e. 24th September, 2025, as a special case Court by passing order dated 24th September, 2025 permitted the petitioners in that writ petition to submit off-online applications by extending the time till 1.00 PM on the next date, 25th September, 2025.

Having considered the respective submissions made on behalf of the parties, Court

finds that there is substance in the submission made on behalf of the Commission taking note of the contents of the notice dated 21st August, 2025 issued by the Secretary of the Commission wherein last date was fixed for submitting application on 24th September, 2025 by 5 PM. If present petitioner would have been otherwise found eligible similar order could have been passed as it was passed in the writ petition being WPA 22876 of 2025, but today that option is not available. Though present writ petition was filed on 22nd September, 2025, meanwhile time to submit application for participation in TET, 2025 has expired long back. Court is not inclined to grant similar relief as it was granted to the petitioners in the writ petition being WPA 22876 of 2025 to the present petitioner due to expiry of time to submit application before the concerned authority of the Commission on 24th September, 2025.

Writ petition stands dismissed.

There shall be, however, no order as to costs.
