The writ petitioner participated in the recruitment process for the post of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces for the year 2022. He succeeded and cleared all stages of screening before medical examination.

However, upon verification of the documents for the purpose of date of birth, the Madhyamik Admit Card issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education was found to be overwritten. The document was held to be suspicious and the petitioner's candidature was rejected.

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is represented.

Ms. Bhattacharyya, learned counsel appearing for the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education submits that the overwriting on the date of birth in the Admit Card of the petitioner for the Madhyamik examination has been done by the Board itself and the document is genuine.

In that view of the matter, this Court directs the concerned respondents to send the petitioner for medical examination and other tests and take steps in accordance with the notice of employment and the rules applicable therefor.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
