Heard learned counsels for the parties.

None appears for the private respondents despite service.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the wife of the 4th respondent and lodged complaint against the 4th and 5th respondents before the concerned PS which was registered under Sections 85/117(2)/110/316(2)/3(5) of the BNS and Sections 3/ 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Thereafter she was assaulted by the private respondents and threatened with dire consequences on two occasions and the private respondents insisted on her withdrawing the complaint lodged by her.

The petitioner lodged complaint before the police in this regard but not steps being taken, the 4th private

respondent was granted anticipatory bail. The petitioner seeks protection of her life and liberty.

Learned counsel for the State submits that pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioner against the private respondents, specific case was lodged, investigated and charge sheet submitted. The subsequent complaint lodged by the petitioner was also diarized. The matter is pending before the learned Trial Court.

In the meantime, the police authority shall take necessary steps for providing protection to the petitioner so that there is no threat on her from the private respondents. Any complaint lodged by the petitioner to that effect shall be promptly dealt with by the police authority. With the above directions and observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
