1. None appears on behalf of the private respondents. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner seeks new electricity connection. Repeated applications filed by the petitioner stood rejected by the authority. In the present writ petition, the petitioner challenges the intimation given to the petitioner vide communication dated 8th July, 2024 informing that more than one application was made in his favour at the above premises, for which the application has been cancelled.

3. Learned advocate for the petitioner insist that, apart from the present application, no other application was made earlier. The petitioner is not aware of the fate of the earlier applications, if any, made in his name.

4. Learned advocate representing CESC Limited submits, upon instruction that, vide communication dated 14th August, 2024 the petitioner was requested to submit necessary tenancy document/occupancy document, if any, to process his application for obtaining new electricity connection.

5. The instruction forwarded by the District Engineer, South Calcutta District mentions that a spot inspection was

conducted in the year 2020 in response to the application filed by the petitioner seeking new meter. It was found that the petitioner was already enjoying electricity from a different meter.

6. There is nothing on record to suggest that the communication dated 14th August, 2024 was served upon the petitioner. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that, his client did not receive the subject communication dated 14th August, 2024.

7. Let a copy of the communication dated 14th August, 2024 be handed over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner for taking necessary steps to challenge the same, if so advised.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
