The private respondents are not represented despite service.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The grievance of the petitioner is that pursuant to a single incident which occurred between the petitioner and the private respondents, two separate complaints were lodged by the parties. The complaint lodged by the private respondents has been registered and a specific case started wherein investigation is going on. However, the complaint lodged by the petitioner has not been heeded to and no step has been taken by the police authority till date with regard to the same.

Learned counsel for the State submits that in the earlier complaint lodged by the private respondents, Section 103(1) of the BNS has been added in terms of the order passed by the learned Additional Chief Judicial

Magistrate, Ghatal, Paschim Medinipur on September 19, 2025.

Be that as it may, since the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the police authority pertaining to the same incident on September 14, 2025, the Officer-inCharge, Daspur Police Station, Paschim Medinipur, being the 5th respondent herein, is directed to register the same and start investigation at once.

With the above observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

Since no affidavit is called for, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
