1. This contempt application has been filed alleging willful disobedience the order dated 16.10.2023 in WPA(P) 546 of 2023.

2. As could be seen from the said order, there was a direction to the 3rd respondent herein in the writ petition, namely, the Additional Director General of Police Headquarters, West Bengal to take appropriate decision on merits and in accordance with law on the representation given by the petitioners. It is true that no time limit is fixed and the decision is to be taken as expeditiously as possible.

3. The learned advocate for the applicants submitted that till date though more than one year has been elapsed, no decision has been taken.

4. In the light of the same, we dispose of this contempt application by directing the Additional Director General of Police Headquarter, West Bengal to take a decision on the representation as ordered earlier and communicate the decision to the writ petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

5. The learned advocate for the applicants is directed to serve a copy of this order in the office of the Government Pleader for effective compliance.
