1. None appears on behalf of the private respondents. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The new electricity connection to the petitioner cannot be given because of the objection raised by the private respondents. Learned advocate representing CESC Limited submits, upon instruction that, the petitioner has complied with the formalities for obtaining new connection.

3. As the electricity is an essential commodity, the private respondents ought not to restrain the petitioner from enjoying the same.

4. In view of the above, the CESC Limited is directed to grant electricity connection to the petitioner, in accordance with law after compliance of all legal formalities, if any, at the earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

5. It will be open for the men and agents of the CESC Limited to take necessary assistance from the Officer-in-Charge,

Baranagar Police Station at the time of installation of the meter.

6. The police shall take necessary steps to ensure that the electricity connection to the petitioner can be effected smoothly.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
