WPA 23639 of 2025 (Shikha Naskar & Ors. vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.) Ms. Baishakhi Singha Mr. Abhik Das Sarma .... For the Petitioners Mr. Sumon Ghosh Mr. Durga Bhusan Mukhopadhyay .... For the State Affidavit of service filed by the petitioners and report submitted by the State are taken on record.

The allegation of the petitioner is two-fold:- First, they are restrained from cultivating their own land by the private respondent. Second, two complaints lodged by them have not been heeded to by the police authority.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

It appears from the report that both the complaints have been registered and investigations were initiated. The cases have culminated in charge sheet.

The grievance of the petitioners with regard to cultivation of their land is a civil issue which shall be adjudicated by the appropriate forum. However, the police authority is directed to keep strict vigil in the area in order to maintain peace and tranquility and also to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
