A joint compromise application has been filed by the petitioner and the private respondent. Petitioner approached this court initially for inaction/non-action of the police authorities in respect of a dispute relating to amount being paid for a property, but neither the property was handed nor the amount was refunded.

In view of the compromise arrived at and statement of the petitioner to that effect has been recorded by the concerned police personnel, pursuant to the direction of Inspector-in-Charge, Uttarpara

Police Station. Further the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner acknowledged that, the cheques which were handed over has been encashed, I am of the view that the purpose for which the petitioner approached this court, has been subserved.

Accordingly CAN 1/2024 along with WPA 23882 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report so submitted by Mr. Ghosh, learned advocate appearing for the state be kept with the record.

The order passed in this case is restricted to the facts of the present case and will not operate as precedent in other cases.
