And In Re : Prakash Das ..... petitioner Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty ... for the petitioner Mr. Rudradipta Nandy, leaned APP Ms. Sonali Das ... for the State Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits the petitioner is in custody for 335 days. It is also submitted that he is no way connected with the alleged crime. He prays for bail.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits trial is in progress. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of the victims show that the petitioner played an active role in procuring the victims who were exploited to make pornography films.

In view of nature of offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein and as trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
