Mr. Manabendra Thakhur Mr. Animesh Roy .........for the applicant Mr. Shyamal Kumar Das ...for the alleged contemnor no.1 Pursuant to the Rule issued by this Court on 7th March, 2025, Mr. Uttam Das, Chairman of Barrackpore Municipality being alleged contemnor no. 1 is personally present before this Court.

On behalf of alleged contemnor no. 1 it is submitted that in connection with proceeding under Section 218 of the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993 another opportunity shall be granted to the parties including the applicant to make deliberation before the concerned authority of the Municipality on a subsequent date and notice shall be served upon the parties.

On behalf of alleged contemnor no. 1 it is assured before this Court that after hearing the applicant proceeding under Section 218 shall be concluded in accordance with law.

Alleged contemnor no. 1 through his learned advocate has tendered unconditional apology for causing delay in concluding the proceeding under Section 218 in terms of order of this Court dated 21st September, 2023.

In view of such submissions made on behalf of the alleged contemnor no. 1, hearing of this contempt allocation stands adjourned till 2nd May, for filing of affidavit of compliance. List the contempt application under the same heading on that day.
