The petitioner is not represented on the sixth occasion today.

The Officer-in-charge, Islampur Police Station, Murshidabad Police District has filed a report dated 23rd January, 2023. The same is taken on record. It appears from the said report that three several cases being FIR No. 484 of 2022 dated 1st November, 2022 under Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code, FIR No. 485 of 2022 dated 1st November, 2022 under Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code and Berhampur Police Station FIR No. 1387 of 2022 dated 18th October, 2022 under Sections 420/406/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code are pending against the petitioner.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is absconding and is evading arrest. In that view of the matter, the instant writ petition is dismissed with costs assessed at Rs.11,000/- (Rupees Eleven Thousand only) payable by the writ petitioner to the Islampur Police Station. A

sum of Rs.5,100/- (Rupees Five Thousand One Hundred only) shall also be payable as costs to the private respondent nos.5 and 6 by the writ petitioner. The police shall be entitled to recover the costs, inter alia, under the provisions of the Bengal Public Demand Recovery Act.
