The private respondents are not represented despite service.

The petitioner is the wife of the 6th respondent and respondent nos. 7 to 10 are the members of her matrimonial family. The petitioner was tortured and assaulted in her matrimonial home after her marriage for which she lodged complaint before the jurisdictional police station. She has also lodged a further complaint on September 10, 2025 alleging assault by her husband when she went to her matrimonial home to collect her belongings.

Learned counsel for the State submits that pursuant to the earlier complaint of the petitioner a specific case has been initiated and charge sheet submitted on September 23, 2025 upon completion of investigation. However, no

step has been taken pursuant to the subsequent complaint lodged by the petitioner.

The police authority is directed to take necessary steps in respect of the complaint dated September 10, 2025. In the event the petitioner is aggrieved by the investigation held in connection with the earlier complaint she is at liberty to approach the appropriate forum for redressal of her grievance.

No fruitful purpose shall be served by keeping the writ petition pending. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
