Learned senior advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arrested on 02.05.2022 and since then he is in custody. Learned advocate further submits that there were specific directions earlier by the High Court to complete the trial within one year. However, the prosecution till date failed to conclude the trial.

Learned advocate for the State submits that 31 witnesses have been examined till date.

Having considered the nature of the offence and the period of detention of the petitioner in custody, as a matter of last chance State is granted six more months time to complete the prosecution evidence.

Petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court after 15th of May, 2026.

At this Stage, CRM (M) 1807 of 2025 is rejected.
