1. The petitioner seeks new electricity connection for running a furniture making unit.

2. The Station Manager of the Distribution Company Limited requested the petitioner to provide a copy of the clearance from the Department of Forest. The petitioner is unable to provide the same.

3. Learned advocate representing the Distribution Company Limited submits, upon instruction that, in response to the application made by the petitioner, a spot inspection was conducted to ascertain feasibility of granting such connection. It has been found that the petitioner intends to run a saw mill. Accordingly, the clearance from the Forest Department was sought for which the petitioner failed to produce.

4. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that a representation was filed before the Divisional Forest Officer seeking a permission to run the unit.

5. On a perusal of the said representation it appears that there is no seal or signature of the receiving authority. Though the letter is addressed to the Divisional Forest Officer, the letter bears the seal of the Karmadhyaksha of the Bon and Bhumi Sanskar Sthayee Samiti under Simlapal Panchayat Samity.

6. It will be open for the petitioner to pray for new electricity connection in accordance with law upon produce of all necessary documents.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of.
