Petitioner is in custody for more than four years. Trial is in progress. He prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Trial is in progress and six witnesses are yet to be examined. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, we are of the opinion though petitioner may not have made out a case to be enlarged on bail, appropriate direction be given to conclude the trial at an early date.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial court is requested to conduct the trial with utmost expedition and conclude the same at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence

without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
