Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 5 months 19 days and the evidence which has surfaced do not inspire confidence to detain the petitioner further in custody. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, has submitted a report which reflects that out of 19/20 witnesses proposed to be examined by the prosecution, 13 witnesses have already been examined. Having regard to the advance stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Learned Trial Court is directed to expedite the progress of the trial and conclude the prosecution witnesses within a

period of six months from the next date so fixed preferably by 15th May, 2026.

Petitioner would be at liberty to renew the prayer for bail in case within the aforesaid time period, the prosecution evidence is not concluded.

Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record.

The application for bail, being CRM (M) 1817 of 2025, is, thus, disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
