1. The issue arises out of the writ petitioner's claim for resignation. The petitioner is a doctor posted as Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Jalpaiguri Government Medical College, Jalpaiguri.

2. When the matter is called on today the learned State counsel has handed over a memo dated 05.12.2025 bearing no. 1383 issued under the signature of the Director of Medical Education, West Bengal in the Directorate of Medical Education communicating acceptance of the resignation subject to integrity clearance to be issued by the State Vigilance Commission and also by the vigilance branch of H&FW Department, Government of West Bengal. The Director has stated in the memo that necessary action is being taken for obtaining the clearance and for completing other formalities as per extant rules.

3. The learned advocate for the petitioner upon going through the memo submits that substantially the writ petition has become infructuous, but this Court should prescribe a reasonable time frame for completing the formalities.

4. The learned State advocate submits that the matter will be pursued expeditiously.

5. We, therefore, consider it appropriate that the above noted formalities be completed by the authorities within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order before the Director of Medical Education.

6. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.

7. Urgent Photostat Certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all necessary formalities.
