1. The electricity line of the petitioner stood disconnected on the ground of tampering and damage of service cable and direct hooking.

2. The petitioner submits that 50% of the billed amount has already been paid by the petitioner.

3. Prayer has been made to direct the Distribution Company Limited to re-connect the line of the petitioner as the grandson of the petitioner is appearing for the Madhyamik Examination, 2025.

4. Learned advocate representing the Distribution Company Limited relies upon the instruction forwarded by the Assistant Engineer and the Station Manager signed on 30.09.2024 which mentions that the final assessment bill was served in July 2024 and the amount due is Rs. 4,26,279/-.

5. In September 2022, the Consumer deposited 50% of the final assessment bill. The balance amount is due and payable.

6. The instant writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to deposit the balance amount. On payment of the balance amount, electricity connection shall be restored within a period of 72 hours thereof.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
