Samim Ullah ... for the State The grievance of the petitioner is directed against non-supply of an electricity connection. It is submitted on behalf of petitioner that despite having complied with all formalities and paid the requisite fees, the respondent WBSEDCL has not provided the above connection.

On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is submitted that though the petitioner has paid all necessary statutory charges, there has been strong physical obstruction from the local people i.e. the respondent nos. 6 to 9.

None appears on behalf of respondent nos. 6 to 9 nor is any adjournment prayed for on their behalf.

Affidavit of Service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept with the record.

In view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service, WPA 25001 of 2025 stands disposed of by directing the concerned police authority being the respondent no. 2 to provide necessary police assistance to WBSEDCL, if the circumstances so warrant. The cost for the above exercise would be borne exclusively by the petitioner. Any proposed connection granted to the petitioner in respect of the above premises would be in accordance with law and after complying with all statutory formalities and making payment of all necessary charges.
