1. Status report filed by the State be kept with the records.

2. Learned Counsel for the State says that the bail prayer of a coaccused person, namely, Tapajul Islam Laskar, was rejected by this Bench on August 23, 2024, in CRM (NDPS) 1285 of 2024, with a direction on the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the fullest extent possible and conclude the same at an early date, positively within six months from the next date fixed for recording of evidence. The State says that the trial will be concluded within the time-period indicated in the aforesaid order dated August 23, 2024.

3. Learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner says that he had no knowledge of the aforesaid order. He has very fairly left the matter to the discretion of the Court.

4. Since this Court prescribed a time-frame within which the learned Trial Court was directed to conclude the trial and since time is still left for the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage. Hence the prayer for bail is rejected.

5. The application being CRM (NDPS) 1531 of 2024 is accordingly dismissed.
