Patra Ms. Supriya Dubey .........for the WBCSSC The petitioners participated in the selection process of SLST 2016 upper primary for being appointed in the post of Assistant Teachers.

The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the petitioners obtained training qualification (B.Ed.) in the year 2017.

According to the petitioners, though they acquired training qualification after the cut off date since they participated in the selection process and obtained B.Ed.

qualification belatedly, such training qualification needs to be taken into consideration while appraising candidatures of the petitioners.

Dr. Patra, learned counsel representing the Commission submits that the cut off date which was fixed for acquiring training qualification in connection with SLST 2016 upper primary was 24th February, 2016.

Therefore, according to the Commission candidatures of the petitioners cannot be considered and they are not to be adjudged as eligible candidates due to lack of training qualification on or before the aforesaid cut off date.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties and taking note of the fact that since the petitioners have not been able to acquire training qualification on or before cut off date, the petitioners are not the eligible candidates for being considered in the selection process of SLST 2016 upper primary; the writ petition stands dismissed.

There shall be, however, no order as to costs.
