Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the earlier petition for anticipatory bail was dismissed as not pressed. The petitioner was not involved.

Learned advocate for the State draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C.

Apparently the petitioner is involved in the racket where money was demanded from the victim for the purpose of enhancing the marks of the victim obtained in the SSC examination. The victim was thereafter abducted and ransom demanded. There is a statement recorded by the victim under Section 164 Cr.P.C. implicating the petitioner. Under such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is

rejected and the application being C.R.M. (A) 5053 of 2022 is dismissed.
