In view of the innocuous nature of the order proposed to be passed, no prior service of notice on the respondent/State is insisted upon.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner points out that the proceeding pending before the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal has been kept pending for an inordinate period. 3.

By placing the order dated July 19, 2024, it is contended that the matter has been unnecessarily relegated to January 08, 2025, that is, about six months from the date of passing of the order, on the specious ground that a status report is required to be obtained.

Upon a perusal of the annexed certified copy and the averments in the application, we are convinced that the matter ought to be directed to be disposed of at an early date.

Accordingly, C.O.L.R.T. 3 of 2024 is disposed of by requesting the Second Bench, West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to dispose of

the pending application of the petitioner bearing O.A. No. 1608 of 2024 (LRTT) by the end of March, 2025.

The affidavit-in-opposition to the said application shall be filed before the LRTT on the next returnable date, that is, January 08, 2025 by the respondent/State upon service of an advance copy of the same on the learned Advocate-onrecord appearing for the petitioner before the Tribunal.

Reply, if any, thereto shall be filed by the petitioner within a week thereafter.

It is made clear that the merits of the contentions before the Tribunal are not gone into by this court and it will be open to the Tribunal to decide all issues independently and in accordance with law. 9.

The learned Advocate-on-record for the petitioner shall communicate a server copy of this order at the earliest on the respondents and/or the learned Advocate appearing for the respondents before the Tribunal.
