The writ petitioner complains that the private respondents have abused her and thereby conducted offences under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. At attempt has been made to evict her from the premises and dispossess her therefrom.

This Court has received instructions addressed to the State advocate from the Bhadreswar Police Station, which is taken on record. It appears that enquiries have been conducted and there is a long standing civil dispute between the petitioner and the private respondents. The detailed enquiry of the police has not established any of the charges of the petitioner against the private respondents under the aforesaid Act of 1989.

Insofar as the apprehension of the petitioner that she is likely to be evicted and/or dispossessed

from her property, she may seek appropriate civil remedies.

The O.C., Bhadreswar Police Station shall ensure that there is no breach of peace in the area and shall maintain strict vigil over the premises. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
