This is a joint application filed by the petitioners and the opposite party no. 2/de facto complainant for effecting compromise on the ground that the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled.

The dispute between the parties arose as a result of causing hurt by a pet dog belonging to the opposite party no. 2 to the Driver of the petitioner no. 4. On the said issue case and counter-case was registered. One of such cases filed by the petitioners against the opposite party no. 2 and others has already been compounded. In the instant case, parties have effected amicably settled out of Court. Considering such aspect of the matter, his Court is of the view that continuation of the criminal proceeding being CGR 588/2021 will be a futile exercise of judicial time without any plausible result.

Considering such aspect of the matter, the instant application is allowed. The revision being CRR 3975/2022 is

also allowed and the proceeding being CGR/588/2021 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 8th Court at Alipore be quashed.
