Pursuant to the previous direction of this Court Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharyya, learned State counsel today files the compliance report in the form of affidavit affirmed by the respondent no.7 on January 10, 2024, the same is taken on record. Copy has already been served upon Mr. Prabhat Tapan Banerjee, learned advocate for the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner on instruction submits that the entire grievance of the petitioner stands satisfied as the due payment has already been made to the petitioner. Therefore, nothing further survives in this writ petition.

However, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for direction for payment of some interest as the petitioner has been suffering since 1981.

Considering the above, the petitioner shall be at liberty to make a representation before the respondent no.7 within a period of four weeks from date. In the event, such representation is made, the respondent no.7 shall dispose of the same by passing a reasoned decision and communicate the same to the petitioner.

This exercise shall be carried out, including the communication of the reasoned decision to the petitioner by the respondent no.7 positively within a period of ten weeks from the date of receiving the representation from the petitioner.

With the above observation, this writ petition, WPA 21726 of 2019 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
