Commercial quantity of phensedyl syrup containing codeine phosphate was seized from the accused persons including this petitioner. In view of the restriction in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, 1985, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, at this stage.

CRM (NDPS) 1544 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

However, considering that the petitioner is in custody for almost one year and noting that the charge-sheet named witnesses have already been examined, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent the business of the Court may permit and conclude the same on an early date. 4.
