Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was issued an international passport by the Passport Authority on October 08, 2018. Subsequently the regional passport office, Kolkata impounded the passport upon liberty to the petitioner to prefer an appeal under Section 11 of the Passports Act. On March 11, 2025, the petitioner obtained certificate of naturalization from the Director of Census Operation, Salt Lake, Kolkata. He filed a fresh application for issuance of passport on March 20, 2025 and a report was called for from the police authority in this regard. The report submitted by the police authority demonstrated two discrepancies for which the petitioner's case could not be recommended. The petitioner seeks a fresh enquiry and consideration of his case for issuance of fresh passport in his favour.

Learned counsel for the State submits that upon due verification of the naturalization certificate of the

petitioner, it was found to be genuine. The police authority has submitted a fresh report in favour of the petitioner recommending issuance of passport.

The petitioner is at liberty to take necessary steps before the passport authority on the anvil of such report submitted by the pplice.

In view of the above, nothing further remains to be adjudicated in the writ petition and the same is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
