Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The petitioners had approached the West Bengal University of Heath Science for running courses of B.Sc. in Radiology and imaging Technique, M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (Hematology), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology and M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (Advanced Pathology and Histopathology) under the University as the petitioner's institution had the infrastructure to do the same. The petitioners informed the same to the concerned authority in June 2024 for getting approval for running the said courses and subsequently, the applicable fees have been accepted by the WBUHS. But, till date no further steps have been taken by the WBUHS.

Learned counsel for the WBUHS submits that there are several applications pending for inspection from different entities. If such an application is pending in respect of the petitioners, necessary steps would be taken for inspecting the institute for the purpose of approval.

It appears that the petitioners' prayer for granting approval for running certain courses have not yet been decided upon by the WBUHS.

In view of the above, let the respondents conduct necessary inspection in accordance with law and at the earliest, preferably within six weeks from the date of communication of this order. After that, the respondent authorities would take a decision on the question of approval of the courses expeditiously.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
