1. By this application, the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of Matrimonial Suit No.108 of 2021, which is pending before the learned Additional District Judge, Fast Track 1st Court at Sealdah.

2. It is submitted that an application for maintenance pendente lite is still pending.

3. Considering the submissions, this Court is of the view that the prayer of the petitioner is innocuous. Neither party stands to lose if a proceeding is disposed of expeditiously. In fact, such expeditious disposal shall enure to the benefit of the parties.

4. Under such circumstances, the revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned court to dispose of the application within a period of six months from the next date fixed. Thereafter, the learned court shall make sincere endeavour to dispose of the suit expeditiously, preferably within a period of one year. Adequate opportunity shall be given to the parties to contest the same. If maintenance is allowed and the same is paid the suit shall proceed, in case of default, the suit shall remain stayed.

5. This court has neither expressed any opinion on the merits of the application nor on the merits of the suit. The learned court shall proceed independently and in accordance with law.

6. The revisional application is accordingly disposed of.

7. There shall be no order as to costs.
