Versus

The State of West Bengal & Ors.

Mr. Tapodip Gupta ..for the Petitioner ... for the State Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner and report submitted by the State are taken on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the married daughter of the petitioner has left her matrimonial home without informing anyone and cannot be traced. The petitioner lodged complaint before the police authority in this regard but to no effect.

Learned counsel for the State submits that on an earlier occasion the petitioner's daughter had fled away with the private respondent and was recovered by the police pursuant to a complaint lodged by the petitioner. Upon the same incident being repeated, the petitioner has lodged a further complaint before the police station. This Court is informed that a specific case has been started and investigation is in progress.

The police authority is directed to continue the investigation in accordance with law and take necessary steps for tracing the whereabouts of the lady. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
