Saharjan Bibi & ORS v. State Of West Bengal & ORS
01.12.2022 Item No.11&12 Court No.6.
S. De W.P.C.R.C. 165 of 2022 (C.P.A.N. 512 of 2022) arising out of W.P.A. 21747 of 2019 With I.A. No. CAN/1/2020 I.A. No. CAN/2/2020 Saharjan Bibi & Ors.
Vs Kalyan Kumar Dey.
Mr. Mukteswar Maity, ...for the petitioners.
Mr. Susobhan Sengupta, Mr. Subir Pal, ...for the alleged contemnor.
An affidavit described as affidavit-of-compliance filed on behalf of the alleged contemnor be taken on record.
The alleged contemnor, Mr. Kalyan Kumar Dey is present in Court today. His personal appearance is dispensed with until further order.
On query, I am told that payment has not yet been made to the petitioners. Hence, I do not see how there has been compliance. I was minded to hold the alleged contemnor guilty of contempt today itself. However, as a last opportunity, let this matter be listed on December 15, 2022. I make it clear that if on or before that date, payment is not made to the petitioners, highly adverse consequences may follow for the alleged contemnor.
