Report submitted by the State is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the private respondents, being the family members of the 1st petitioner have not accepted the marriage between the petitioners. The petitioners apprehend threat to their lives and security. They lodged a complaint in this regard before the local police station and seek adequate police protection. It appears from the report submitted by the State and is also submitted on behalf of the State that a specific case has been registered pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioners. In course of investigation, the petitioner's brother, being the 12th respondent herein, was examined and he has undertaken on behalf of his family that the family has nothing to do with the marriage or lives of the petitioners and shall not disturb/interfere with their marital life.
Learned counsel for the private respondents also submits that the private respondents undertake not to disturb or interfere with the lives of the petitioners. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that the petitioners shall be at liberty to approach the police authority in the event they apprehend threat to their lives or security at the behest of the private respondents. Since nothing further remains to be dealt with in the present application, the same is accordingly disposed of. There shall however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
