The petitioner No.1 is a Fishermen Co-operative Society and the petitioner No.2 is its manager. The petitioner states that the lease was granted in favour of the respondent No.11, who was the highest bidder in respect of Munna Beel Jalkar measuring about 43.04 acre lying within Harishchandrapir-II Block in the District of Malda for carrying on pisciculture in the said Beel. The petitioner states that the lease period expired on March 31, 2024.

The petitioner submitted a representation before the respondent authorities allowing the petitioner to carrying on the pisciculture activities till the Beel is settled in accordance with law.

Mr. Mahata, learned Additional Government Pleader submits that fresh tender could not be floated as a new

portal is being launched and some time is required for such purpose. Mr. Mahata submits that prior to the start of the new season w.e.f. April 14, 2026 the new portal will be made ready and steps for holding tender and finalising the same for settlement of the Beel shall be taken. Recording such submission the writ petition stands disposed of with the hope and trust that the respondent authorities shall take steps in accordance with law for settlement of the Beel.

The written instruction filed by Mr. Mahata, learned Additional Government Pleader is taken on record. There will be no order as to costs.
