Mr. Nikhil Kr. Gupta Mr. Subir Kr. Roy Mr. Sukanta Roy ... For the Petitioners Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioners is for expeditious disposal of G.R. Case no. 524 of 2020 pending before the learned 7th Judicial Magistrate, Howrah, the matter may be taken up for consideration without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case. It appears that charge-sheet was submitted before the learned trial Court on 25th March, 2021. The petitioners filed an application seeking discharge on 11th November, 2021. Several adjournments have been granted by the learned trial Court and the application is still pending.

In view of the above, the learned trial Court is directed to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioners and also consider the charge against them on the next date of hearing fixed before him and if the same is not possible due to unavoidable circumstances, within one month thereof. Learned trial Court is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion within two years from the date of consideration of the

application/charge without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

CRR 4190 of 2024 is disposed of.
