* * * * The present writ petition was filed claiming to be in public interest whereby grievance was raised that the respondent No.14 was operating industry, which is causing noise pollution.
A perusal of the order passed by the Court dated November 19, 2011 shows that the stand of the learned counsel for the Electricity Board was recorded stating that the electric connection of the unit had been disconnected.
The learned counsel appearing for the Pollution Control Board submitted that the respondent No.14
WPA/20294/2010 filed W.P. 22434 (W) of 2010 raising grievance regarding closure of its unit. As per the information available on the website, the aforesaid writ petition was disposed of on August 14, 2012.
Keeping in view of the aforesaid development and also the fact that the petitioners have not pursued the present writ petition for last more than seven years and has not put in appearance even on the last two dates of hearings, in our opinion, they have lost interest in the litigation.
Dismissed for non-prosecution.
