Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arrested in the month of July, 2017 and since then he is in custody for 8 years 4 months. Learned advocate for the State submits that date was lastly fixed on 3rd November, 2025 for examination of accused under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Having regard to the period of detention of the petitioner as well as the stage of the case, I direct the learned trial court to complete whole of the procedure and pass the verdict, preferably by 28th February, 2026. The trial of the case would continue in spite of the resolution of the local bar and no unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties. In case in spite of best of the efforts for reasons otherwise within the time scheduled learned trial court is unable to comply the directions, the petitioner be released on bail

by the learned trial court.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.

CRM(M) 1877 of 2025 is disposed of with the aforesaid directions.

Memo of evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record.

Learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta is directed to communicate this order to the learned trial court. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
