The petitioner seeks filter water connection at holding No. 1626, Arabinda Sarani, Ward No.-13, Baruipur Municipality.

The petitioner submits that the application was made on 10th January, 2022 followed by reminder on 25th March, 2022 and a further notice demanding justice through the learned advocate on 8th July, 2022. There has been no response from the end of Baruipur Municipality.

Learned advocate appearing for the Baruipur Municipality submits, upon instructions, that after service of a copy of the writ petition the Municipality sought to contact the petitioner but he was unavailable. It has been submitted that a formal application under the signature of the petitioner is required to be filed for obtaining the water connection. The moment the application is filed, the same shall be processed by the Municipality.

In view of the submissions made hereinabove, the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to file formal application in the prescribed format for obtaining filter water connection. On receipt of the application in the prescribed format, the Municipality shall take immediate steps to process the same and intimate the petitioner the formalities to be complied for effecting the water connection.

It is expected that the Municipality shall act diligently and shall provide water connection to the petitioner positively within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of the application in the prescribed format and upon completion of all necessary formalities.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
