Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 2 years and 7 months and there has been no progress in the trial of the case. It has also been pointed out that the prosecution has not put in efforts also to take the investigation to its logical conclusion in spite of the fact that they have relied upon 24 witnesses.

Learned advocate for the State submits that 4 witnesses have been examined in-chief till date and the crossexamination has been deferred. State is directed to conclude another 6 witnesses by 31.03.2026. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of

the parties and the trial of the case would continue in spite of any resolution of the local bar.

Learned Trial Judge would record in case any of the advocates shows reluctance for continuing with the trial on the date so fixed. The same be recorded in the order sheet for further reference of this Court.

At this stage the prayer for bail in CRM (M) 1905 of 2025 is rejected.

Petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after the said period is over.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.
