The present revisional application has been preferred in respect of Ranaghat Police Station Case No.541 of 2015 dated 29.10.2015 (G.R. Case No.2146 of 2015) wherein the Investigating Agency on conclusion of investigation submitted their charge-sheet under Sections 498A/307/34 of the Indian Penal Code. The case was thereafter committed to the court of sessions and after framing of charge, the learned trial court on different dates for the last five years have been trying to conclude the evidence. As the present case was instituted in the year 2015 and since the petitioner who happens to be son out of the first wedlock of her husband and has been implicated in connection with the instant case who is suffering for pendency of the criminal case and is unable to join any job, I direct that without going into the merits of the case, the learned trial court would complete the trial and pronounce its judgment on or before 31st December, 2024. It has been pointed out that the next date has been fixed by the learned trial court in the month of July, 2024.

I direct that the date be preponed and evidence of the witnesses be accordingly fixed so that within the aforesaid schedule the court can arrive at its finding.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 3876 of 2023 is disposed of.

Learned trial court is directed to act on server copy of this order for the purpose of preponing the date and informing the public prosecutor appearing in the case so that the witnesses are directed to appear. If required, the learned trial court would communicate to SDPO/DSP or Additional SP of the concerned area who would ensure regarding the appearance of the witnesses or in the alternative file a report regarding the unwillingness of the witnesses to appear and participate in the case. By no stretch of imagination the time line should be extended. Pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
