1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner applied for electricity connection, which has been refused by the CESC Limited.

Due to such refusal, the instant writ petition has been preferred.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited places reliance on a communication dated September 12, 2023, which is Annexure P4 at page 13 of the writ petition, where the CESC Limited pointed out that a previous attempt by the petitioner to take electricity connection was refused on the ground of splitting of load, which was upheld by the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO).

3. Since no challenge has been preferred against the said order of the GRO, the same has attained finality.

4. Upon a perusal of the materials on record, it transpires that the CESC Limited is correct in submitting that the petitioner has renewed the efforts, which were already turned down by the GRO on the ground of splitting of load, by seeking a fresh electricity connection at the self-same property.

5. In view of the above reasons, such efforts on the part of the petitioner cannot be upheld.

6. Hence, WPA No. 23686 of 2023 is dismissed.

7. There will be no order as to costs.

8. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
