APP Mr. Dipankar Paramanick ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is unnecessarily languishing in jail for a period of one year and six months and there is hardly any possibility of the trial being concluded in the near future, as such, on any stringent condition, the petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the evidence of the six witnesses have been completed and few witnesses are left for examination.

Having considered that State is taking sincere steps for concluding the trial, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the learned trial court is directed to ensure that the trial is completed within a reasonable period of time.

Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) of is dismissed.
