Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits Bpg.

Rejected that out of 26 witnesses so cited by the prosecution, only two witnesses have been examined till date. The petitioner is in custody for more than 11⁄2 years. As such, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner prays for bail on any stringent conditions. On the other hand, learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the body of the deceased was buried and was recovered in presence of the BDO and other Executive Officers by the police authorities and the place was identified by the petitioner and her husband. The wearing apparels were also recovered pursuant to statements of the present petitioner and her husband. I have considered the submissions of the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned advocate appearing for the State. On an assessment of the merit of the case, I

am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. So far as the progress of the trial is concerned, the same remains to be dissatisfactory. The Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur would engage a Nodal Officer so that there is a smooth progress of the trial and the appearance of the witnesses are ensured on the date so fixed by the learned trial court. Learned advocate appearing for the State would communicate the copy of this order to the Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 2143 of 2025 is dismissed at this stage.
